GALLEY KITCHEN
This kitchen was outdated and non-functional providing the main traffic walkway through the house. The sink was small and low and there was no dishwasher. The small bench was extremely high and there was minimal space for a fridge. The meals area was restricted by huge fridge and a free standing pantry was only used for breakfast and interfered with the passage through the house.
By working closely with the client and answering her needs, Margot was able to streamline the kitchen by designing a galley kitchen. She allocated fridge and double door walk-in pantry to the west wall. The new kitchen design incorporated a dishwasher by the well placed sink.
Margot ensured there was ample storage in the straight lines of cabinetry, and by continuing the kitchen bench Margot created a breakfast bar, a study nook was also included at the request of the client.
