A lady who worked for the Frankston Business Network gave my phone number to her friend. She felt I would be the ideal designer to assist with achieving the renovation her friend desired: she was spot-on!
 
The often built 'L' shaped living dining area becomes no more than a traffic way from the entry to the kitchen. As there is not enough space for a walkway and furniture, conversation and television viewing is commonly interrupted. Nor is the space large enough to comfortably accommodate all the family together. The dining area is too small and in Anne’s home the kitchen was dated with dead corners, no dishwasher and no bench space and the enthusiasm for any cooking enjoyment had been all but halted.
 

Anne’s idea was to open the whole area, creating one large living and dining area, but how to arrange the kitchen within that space for maximum functionality. I was able to assimilate this, make several suggestions on the theme, talk through the options with some arm waving to aid the visualisations. Then I produced the detailed drawings which evoking great interest for the tradesmen. For them this job was easy to quote because of the drawings and for their knowledge and relief that Anne had arrived at her desired layout and elements ensuring there would be few if any changes during construction.
 
Anne was impressed by my service calling it “excellent”: I listened to her and her husband’s requests, returning quickly with ideas and suggestions. The time I spent with them, Anne said “…and on drawing the first-rate plans is exceedingly good economic value.”
 
The room is completed now and we have achieved exactly what they wanted. Anne’s advice to anybody contemplating any type of renovation would be to “…firstly: talk to Margot as her skills are unparalleled and thorough.”
