In Situ Kitchen
The wet rooms had slipped into decay: to make it liveable a miracle was needed!
In the 1980's this kitchen and family area was added to the back of the existing Victorian home. It was well laid out with plenty of benching and storage and it included only an economical upright stove. The choice of fashionable decor of timber doors and edge of laminate bench tops had dated & worn: it was high time for a face lift!
A problem of the broom cupboard, fridge & pantry finishing at 2.1M high and collected dust was over come with construction of a bulk head. The old up-right stove was replaced with stainless steel cook top & oven. The appliance cupboard added in the corner. Next we were ready for the finishers.
We replaced the doors with gloss timber and went to choose black granite for bench tops and splash backs. This was easy for the client as she had the plans prepared by Kitchen and Home Sketch Designs. The supplier checked his stock of raw slabs to ensure the bench top joins were optimally avoided or placed.
