New kitchen for period home

When I first visited this house the kitchen was so tiny compared to the generous spaces of the home it was ridiculous. For this avid cook and home entertainer with a large family we needed something far more appropriate. There was plenty of space with a dining table centered in the room but even with a decent spacious kitchen and storage there would still be plenty of area for casual dining too.
We needed:             

• Storage and space
• If possible to retain placement of services
• Less of the dark timber and retain the floor boards
• Addition of desk for meal planning, home management etc
• Appropriate lighting and characteristic features
• To kept vintage feature of the beautiful mantle

 
The result was a luminous and gleaming kitchen with masses of storage space.
 
Now the kitchen can cater for prestigious business dinners, all the family at once, parties for everyone and the daily comings and goings of any number of folks!
